Salt = water = the devil

So.. two juices yesterday, breakfast and afternoon 2pm snack. A salad with greens and a piece of meatloaf for lunch.. then the devil for dinner. McDonald's I think, is the biggest moral killer on the scale. I merely had a 6 piece nugget, two sauces, and a large diet Dr. Pepper.. this morning.. the scale shows a 1 pound weight increase. It's not that I have literally gained 1 lb of fat overnight of course, but the SALT in the foods I ate yesterday, killed what could've been a pleasant morning weigh in.

today's weight 208.6. Goal to maintain in the 206 to 209 range during the upcoming cruise. My commitment is to work out everyday on the ship, for at least 1/2 hour. perhaps two sessions a day.

last day

Sunday weight: 205

Total of 9 pounds again. I feel really good and relaxed. I did have chicken tenders for dinner last night and feel a little guilt over that, but it was a nice celebration. I'm not going to do the 14 day plan as planned. It got off track immediately when I went out to dinner on Friday night with Martha. I will however aim to keep the calories low, with a Juice in the morning, a salad and some light meat item for lunch, and a very light dinner, and a light (jello and fruit) snack before bedtime. My goal is to keep in my mind purview, that eating anything heavy, fattening, bready or cheezy, should be vetted as verbotten. Exercise needs to begin this week. I racked leaves aggressively this weekend, so I did get some good exercise in there. But I need to get back to cardio.

7th day Morning

weight: 207.2

Ate a bit more of the fruit of the tree (olives) last night, also had a 1/2 of an orange (not juiced), so I think some of the weight I'm seeing as a result of solids in the system. My bet is if I had not done that I'd probably be about a quarter pound lighter this morning. Mind you, I'm not complaining, by tomorrow morning the fast is officially completed, and having lost seven pounds already; I'm feeling good about it.  Tonight I'm having dinner out with Mom so I will eat solid food instead of my two last juicings of the day.

Now begins Jason's 14 day plan and it's very very lean. juice, salad, juice .. juice, salad, soup.... juice salad, fish... etc. If I combine with a couple of days of exercise, this should be equally as satisfying on the scale, and I should continue to lose FAT!

Day 6 begins

weight: 207.2

Down 1 pound. Seems to be a fairly consistent result as long as you stay on the juicing program, you will go down 1 pound per day. Awesome. Love it. I feel good, not as loopy as yesterday and not as loopy as the day before. I am however consistently anxious about not being able to eat other foods. This is purely psychological of course, and I've only been doing this for 6 days. I cannot imagine doing this much longer. I will on Saturday, start a strict regime and add exercise. My goal is to be down 13 pounds before the cruise, or a weight of around 201 to 202.

I should add, that I've been consistently eating pickles and olives for my 8pm and skipping the 8 o'clock juice all together. This has not effected my results on the scale, and has satiated my need for strong flavors in the evening.

Salty snack and weight

weight: 209.8

Gained a pound, as a result of some bigger intake last night. I went nuts and HAD TO HAVE MY SALT!!! So I decided to eat a jar of salsa and have some garlic stuffed olives. The result, water retention this morning and the weight gained by eating a full jar of salsa. For me this is not about being the perfect juicer, but making smart breaks when absolutely necessary. To be clear, the goal is health and weight loss.. It's not like I ate anything truly off plan, these are fruits (tomato and olive), just a bit more solid than a strictly juiced fruit. I suppose I could've tossed them into the blender to really mulched it up. But otherwise, on target, on plan.

Second Time around - Day 3

Starting weight: 214.8
Todays weight: 208.8

I've lost about six pounds in 2 days, now starts the third day. I'm not cheating as much as I did before when I had an entire jar of pickles the evening of the first day. I think the novelty has worn off, as well as some of the fear. I was anxious about beginning again, but the delicious first juice knocked the hunger away, and aside from feeling hunger most of the first day, and flaky most of the first two days, I'm holding my own really well. I made most of my juices for the day this morning, and I think I'm going to try to maintain this effort, versus doing the whole set the night before. Started at 7am, and created a juice for Martha and four juices for myself, for a total of five juices and it only took about 30 minutes.

I raked leaves for about 1 and half hours on Saturday, so good exercise there, otherwise I would've gone to hike a trail.

So now begins day three.
